Savage Beauty

Alexander McQueen puts on a good show, even in death.
I shall not regurgitate every word you have already read about the exhibition “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” at the Met.
I will however advise you to hop a plane, train, or hail a taxi to this uptown institution for a glimpse into the gloriously bizarre and sometimes dark mind of a genius.
Despite what we know of his untimely demise, all sadness is banished by the brilliant light of his creativity.
I thought of many of you while wandering about the exhibition and wished I could make you appear by my side. McQueen makes one believe that anything is possible, especially the improbable.
The show runs until July 31st.

Hello David:
It is of great sadness to us that we shall most likely not, if truth is to be told, be able to visit this wonderful exhibition about which we have seen and read much.

However, we shall of course investigate the possibility this weekend of chartering a yacht or an aeroplane to whisk us there!

Beautiful, personal and interesting blog. I am yet to visit the show at the Met, but the moment I can escape from my work, I will walk over and spend a few hours absorbing the amazing creative work of such a talented man.

The picture looks like it could be something from Alice in Wonderland or some futuristic adventure.

Oh how I would love to be there to see it !
My heart aches when I think he is gone, there was so much more left to do and to enjoy, I am so sad he is gone.
But I am happy that there is so much of his work for us to still see and enjoy.
Go back and see it all again for me, times like this, I miss NYC very much ...

I was there at the press preview to write a review for Fashion Projects. It was sublime... I wish I could go back as there was so much to take in. How lucky you are to just waltz over whenever the mood strikes.

Wish I could have accompanied you David, wish I could go, wonder if the exhibition will visit Paris and London, then perhaps I could see it, NYC is a very distant dream at present.

As you know I was a huge McQueen fan as well. I got beat up on Twitter because I said Kate Middleton's dress was boring and thank God McQueen was unable to see it because he would die all over again.

You know, I can't form an opinion.

Ah, I wish I could see this exhibition :( I have "Savage Beauty" book but that's not the same as seeing all this beauty during the exhibition. McQueen was a true genius to me, not only a perfect craftsmen but mostly a dark romantic who was able to transform the reality with his creations...Not many of them left in the fashion world :/
